Who we are
Xperien (Pty) Limited is a leading Johannesburg-based South African Information Technology Asset Disposition (ITAD) company. We are the only company in Africa with ISO9001:2015 accreditation specifically for ITAD.
What we do
Our founding principle is that “Assets must be disposed of within three to five years of purchase.” Accordingly, we provide our clients with secure, accredited ITAD services. Our value proposition is to protect our clients’ personal information and intellectual property that resides on their computers during technology changes and at “end-of-service”.

How we do it
Xperien provides cost-effective solutions to combat the challenges associated with data loss and to mitigate reputational risk. Our compliance meets the CEGS & NIST SP 800-88 , particularly in terms of data-destruction processes, while adherence to the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPI Act) & General data Protection Regulations (GDPR), is core to our business.

Why we do it
To negate the ever-present risk of data and hard-drive theft from decommissioned computers. The POPI Act prescribes that a responsible party must take reasonable measures to:
(a) Identify all reasonably foreseeable internal and external risks to personal information in its possession or under its control;
(b) Establish and maintain appropriate safeguards against risk identified;
(c) Regularly verify that the safeguards are effectively implemented; and
(d) Ensure that the safeguards are continually updated in response to new risks or deficiencies in previously implemented safeguards.
We ensure POPI Act compliance and compliance with other legislation, including the NEMWA and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
We achieve this by maintaining a secure chain of custody during movement of equipment, and by implementing on-site data-elimination solutions that guarantee maximum security for all clients.
Reduce risk, reduce cost
Years of experience have enabled us to develop cost-effective processes without compromising on security. We offer three data-destruction solutions that suit most budgets: digital tracking, dynamic disposal and decommissioning.
Using digital tracking devices such as barcodes and scanners enables us to maintain accurate information on the movement of computers from multiple facilities to our warehouse. This approach also increases efficiency while reducing human error and incidents of loss.
The best practice for decommissioning equipment is what we call “roll in, roll out”. This process uses the same box in which the new equipment is delivered to collect the used equipment.
